congratulations

continuing the mini-series on good emails: delighted that Julie has been awarded the Veterinary Medicine Award at this year’s Student Union Undergraduate Research Symposium (held yesterday). this summer project was supported by summer student stipends from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (SURE programme) AND NSERC. The origins of this project come from Jessie’s MSc thesis work, during which she spotted unreliability and inconsistency with IP pentobarbital euthanasia. this lead to an internship project (Katie Zatroch) aimed at refining the dose and volume of the injectate which received funding from CALAM-CALAS, and eventually Julie’s project, looking further in to nociception/ pain associated with this technique.
